Online Communication, Business Assessment

 Hello again!

We are back with our weekly post, and today I would like to talk about a business that I find extremely interesting from a communication standpoint: Adidas

I think this company does an amazing job of communicating through their website and their social media accounts. They are loyal to their customers, and I can say from a personal perspective that Adidas does a great job of notifying their previous customers about new sale opportunities and product releases. The website itself does a great job of providing the most relevant news on their main page, so you see it immediately after opening the website. The website link is also featured on every social media account and post, so users can quickly and simply access the product. Social media sites include Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and more, all of which are beautifully managed by the marketing team to create eye-catching and attention drawing content. They make sure to post about 1-2 times a day, with relevant content to advertise new products, or celebrities wearing their products.

Here is the link for the official Adidas Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/adidas/

The website features a large image in the middle of their home page, advertising the new Winter Line, full of "soft fabrics and comfy fleece" for the colder weather. There is a direct link on the image to direct customers straight to the new products, without losing their attention. At the top of the website there are more direct links for Men, Women, Kids, Gifts, Sale and "New and Trending", right next to a search bar so customers can browse at their own speed or search for a known product immediately. Below the large image, are multiple smaller pictures of the new arrival products, and at the bottom of the page, there is a detailed paragraph explaining the Adidas credibility and how they became a reputable brand. I think this organization is incredibly effective to draw in new or old customers so they feel more inclined to make a purchase. I think they organized it this way to make sure the large image holds audience attention and draws them in further to look at more links throughout the website.

The brand does communicate an online presence especially through social media, by commenting on other types of posts like: customer posts in which they use #adidas, other famous fashion posts by commenting and offering to send influencers PR packages. I also think they stay trending on social media and the internet by posting on their accounts about trending celebrities wearing their products, or going along with fashion trends and dropping new merchandise which appeals to the public. They use TikTok quite often actually to participate in trending "memes" with members of their PR team.

For an example, here is a TikTok trend they have participated in:  https://www.tiktok.com/@adidas/video/7429781519675264289?lang=en

I do think they could improve their communication on accounts like Twitter and Facebook, so they can try to appeal more to older crowds who may not be as in touch with TikTok or Instagram. Overall, I think Adidas is a wonderful example of a brand who effectively uses Social Media to communicate to their market audience.
